Coming Soon to EDN

Updated Apr 09, 2008

EDN online is work in progress. We want to keep you informed of the enhancements, changes, and additions we are working on and allow you to weigh in on them. The following is a list of planned and possible future enhancements. Please let us know what you think of the proposed changes and of any other changes you'd like to see by using our EDN Feedback form.

What we're working on now

  • Developer Centers - these sub-areas of the EDN Web site would filter available content (technical articles, samples, and more) by the language or product in which that particular center is covering. For example, the .NET Developer Center would be a focused place for you to find .NET specific samples, information on the .NET Link for ArcIMS, and reference documentation for the ArcObjects .NET API.
  • Annotate the content - you will be able to add your own comments, tips, or discussion points to the available EDN technical articles and API help. Your annotations will then be viewable by other EDN online users.
  • Search - the new search system and user interface implemented within the EDN Web site will continue to be refined based on your feedback.
  • Content Syndication - get an RSS feed telling you about content changes, added downloads, or updated samples within select areas of the EDN site.
  • Content, Content, Content - we are adding videos, technical articles, and improved API documentation.
  • Discussion Forums - the organization of the user forums will be revamped in the upcoming months. We intend to simplify our model and make it easier for you to decide which forum your question should be posted to or which thread you want to follow.

What we're thinking about

  • Author an article and we'll publish it - submit a proposal for an article to us by using the feedback. If we like it, we'll publish it!
